"Someone cut a master lock and entered the museum located at Main Street and State Street inside the park, said Ranger Barry Robertson. "When they entered the museum they ended up stealing several items with gold or individual pieces of gold from the museum. Unfortunately at this time we don't have any suspects."Whoever those thieves were, they weren't very knowledgable about gold. Also stolen was some fool's gold - iron pyrite.
Robertson says the estimated value of the stolen gold is undetermined at this time.

California State Museum In Columbia Robbed Of Gold
As gold rises, it becomes more of a tempting target for thieves. Gold that has been safely in the Columbia State museum for decades was robbed after thieves broke in when the museum was closed.
