Gold-Rush Present Meets Gold-Rush Past

There's a veritable gold rush in British Columbia as more and more deposits are found. It's good for the B.C. economy, but the corporate and professional nature of said exploration makes it much more matter-of-fact than it was in the olden days. The romance still attached to those bygone days were tapped into by a local ladies' curling bonspiel in 100 Mile House, B.C.: it had a gold-rush theme.
A total of 19 teams competed in the Gold Rush-themed event that included a jail cell among its curious array of decorations.

Club director Joanne Doddridge says there had been plans to put somebody in lock-up during the bonspiel, but all the women behaved themselves.
