Interest in this year's convention is high because the mining sector is rebounding from the global recession, said Tony Andrews, executive director of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.There are also more foreigners at this year's conference, some looking for joint ventures.
"The fundamentals that were driving the boom in the first place are still there," Andrews said.
"If you were lucky enough that you invested, you'd be having a big smile on your face right now."

Yukon Projects Featured At PDAC
Yukon projects are the stars of the show at this year's Prospectors and Developers Association conference this year. There are now more than forty companies with properties in the area. The area play was sparked by Shawn Ryan's discovery of alluvial gold, for which he has been honoured by the Bill Dennis award for prospecting success.
